If you are away for any period of time over the festive season, you should ensure that your property is adequately protected from damage due to freezing, as per the terms of your tenancy agreement.
This means leaving heating systems running or if you are away for longer than a few days, draining the water system, to ensure that no damage occurs.
Sudden cold snaps are typical winter conditions and the consequences of a water pipe burst are horrendous and can cost thousands of pounds to repair. We would like to remind you that it is your responsibility to act reasonably and look after the property in which you live.
We recommend you seek the professional assistance of a “Gas Safe” registered plumber to drain down the water system in the property and to refill the system in order to ensure the work is completed correctly.
